FIRST TEST GARMIN FENIX 7
Let’s talk about treks
Spec it up enough and Garmin’s do-it-all adventure watch will go longer than you can. But is that boosted staying power worth the eye-watering spend?
[ Words Kieran Alger ]
I t’s been a good two years since Garmin upgraded its top-tier multi-sports watch, but the Fenix 7 has finally risen.
It takes the familiar Fenix rugged design DNA but moves on in two key areas: bigger battery life and more accurate GPS.
On the range-topping 7X Solar edition that we tested, the GPS battery life has been boosted from 60 to 122hrs. You also get new multi-band GPS that’s designed to deliver better accuracy to your runs, rides and treks, plus a colour touchscreen, navigable colour topo maps and a new route-following tool.
