With gaming groups disrupted, many of us saw the options immediately flash before our eyes – attempt to play RPGs through whatever video app was in vogue that week, or scan the boxes on our shelves and find out what exactly the ‘one’ in ‘1-5 players’ actually meant.
Or both most likely, the former being at the whim of internet connections, player’s ability to ignore notifications, and – as the ever present spectre hanging like the grim reaper over every roleplaying session – scheduling. The later, held off only by the idea that it might feel weird – until you tried it. Solo gaming has found its moment for those of us who didn’t necessarily know we wanted to play our games this way.
