HERTFORD finished the season with a flourish at Highfields, scoring seven tries in a 43-12 thrashing of high-flying Colchester.
The visitors had the incentive of a second-placed finish, but Hertford were in rampant form. Two fine finishes from Josh Rudling got them going and they never looked back – tries from David Hale and Alex Banna wrapping up the bonus point before half-time. Kyle Lemon, Matisse Sorce and Hale all crossed after the break for Hertford as Colchester lost two men to the sinbin, but they did claim consolations through Ropati Sooalo and Jimmy Mpailane.
