Sure, we know that Peugeot has a long and storied history in motorsport, but did you know that the French outfit actually won the third ever Indianapolis 500 way back in 1913? Fastest driver Jules Goux was the first Frenchman – and in fact the first European – to win. He and his mechanic Emil Begin polished off four bottles of champagne between them during the race on their way to a 13-minute margin of victory.
