Take a broader view of your song’s structure
Unless avant garde, freeform improvisation is your thing, your song will follow some kind of structure. Some songs – like 50s and 60s pop – follow simple structures with as few as two sections, while progressive bands create complex song structures. These are represented as ‘formulas’ using letters which show how many sections a song has and when they are repeated.
