Dear TBM,
I read the interview by Ryan Theiler with Stanley Temple of the Aldo Leopold Foundation. Ryan’s recollections brought back memories I have of also taking the introductory course in Natural Resources at Cornell in my 1974 freshman year. By then it was taught by a different professor, but lessons from Aldo Leopold were still taught.
Many years later, I ordered a paperback copy of Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac from Paul Brunner’s Eco Outdoors catalog (that later was called Screaming Eagle). I carried it for many years in my pack while sitting in tree stands. If it was a day with crunchy leaves, I’d read it on and off while waiting for a deer to wander my way.
