NEW DISENCHANTMENT
Ground-breaking cartoonist Matt Groening has been at the forefront of TV animation for more than thirty years, from the hilarious adventures of Homer, Marge and their clan in The Simpsons to the inter-planetary escapades of slacker Philip J Fry in Futurama. Now Groening has created his first new series in almost twenty years with the Dark Ages-set fantasy comedy Disenchantment. The epic ten part series, available on Netflix from Friday, is set in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland and has a spirited princess at its heart. But Disenchantment is no cute Disneystyle creation. Dreamland is a run-down realm where rebellious, booze-loving, buck toothed tomboy Princess Bean, voiced by Abbi Jacobson, battles to take charge of her own destiny.
