Jet2 adds to Airbus order

(Photo Jet2.com)

UK LEISURE carrier and newly converted Airbus operator Jet2.com has exercised purchase rights for an additional 36 A321neo aircraft, taking its total firm commitment for the type to 146 examples. The move comes after the company announced strong financial results for 2024 culminating in a pre-tax profit of more than half a billion pounds.

Originally announced in late 2021, the order was seen as a major coup for the European manufacturer as the then all-Boeing operator had also reportedly been reviewing the option of the 737 MAX for its fleet renewal programme. The airline said the order demonstrated its confidence in its future growth plans. The delivery stream of A321neos now stretches through to 2035.
