DEEP SKY CHALLENGE
INTRIGUING GALAXIES AND SPARKLING CLUSTERS
Spring is finally here, so now’s the time to go hunting in Coma Berenices and Canes Venatici
1 Messier 53
As winter turns to spring, the very nature of the night sky changes. Gone are winter’s bright stars, bold constellations and obvious deep-sky delights such as the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades and open cluster Messier 35. Replacing them are subtler constellations drawn with dimmer, less obvious stars, and a host of deepsky objects that are as distant as they are faint.
