ISLAY
Whisky tourism on Islay has enjoyed another boom year with more visitors than ever before making the pilgrimage to distilleries across Scotland. According to new figures released by Diageo last week, the company’s two distilleries on Islay have seen a dramatic increase in visitor numbers in the last few years.
In the last year alone, the number of visitors to Caol Ila and Lagavulin distilleries have increased 20 per cent and 33 per cent respectively.
