Brodick’s new ferry terminal and pier were officially opened at the third time of asking last Thursday.
As reported in last week’s Banner, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Constitution Derek Mackay opened the £30 million infrastructure upgrade project, which has transformed the harbour area. He was joined by Kevin Hobbs, chief executive at Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), which led delivery of the project.
The official opening had twice previously been postponed, with the first date coinciding with the funeral of Lady Jean Fforde last October. The project then hit months of delay, due to faults with the passenger access system, before finally opening for business last month.
