SCOTTISH Athletics has won the ‘governing body of the year’ award at the Team Scotland Scottish Sports awards.
The recognition comes as a result of an outstanding year for the country’s sport, both in terms of participation and performance levels.
Some of Great Britain’s highest-performing athletes of 2016 have come from north of the border, including world No.1 and British record-holder over 1500m, Laura Muir, and fellow Olympic finalists and Scottish record-holders Lynsey Sharp in the 800m, and Andrew Butchart in the 5000m.
