The price of being green
Thank you for your article about woodburning stoves in the December issue. It was very helpful and cleared up some confusion surrounding the issue of how they impact on the environment, particularly after the frenzy that followed Sadiq Khan’s comments. It is good to know companies are already working on more eco-friendly models. However, I am worried that regulations will soon ask that I fit a new appliance (we bought our stove about nine years ago). While I consider myself to be a friend of the environment, I don’t think spending money on replacement products every few years should be a priority. I hope a ban on woodburners won’t become the norm across London. Simon Franklin, via email
