I am just over halfway through a renovation of an old mill and am living and breathing much of what I read in Build It. I write to congratulate Tim Doherty on his excellent feature in the December issue on hiring and working with carpenters. It’s a particularly clear, enlightening and useful piece. I was delighted to discover that he had outlined the costs for certain jobs and the number of days you can expect them to take. I think this sort of information makes a really useful guide for us self builders and renovators. Keep up the good work!
