Building society supports older people’s helpline

The Campbeltown agency of a national building society is promoting phone service The Silver Line to stop older people suffering loneliness.

The charity, launched by Dame Esther Rantzen in 2012, operates a free helpline to address loneliness and isolation among older people aged 55 and over.

Some Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) colleagues form part of the network of Silver Line friends across the UK, who make weekly calls to older people who have contacted the charity asking for help.
