SEVENTEEN hardy golfers faced a strong wind when contesting the first round of the Archie MacNab Memorial Cup at Glenralloch.
Once again the Kintyre weather failed to defeat the players and Kenny MacFarlane took pole position with a three over par 39 giving him 42 stableford points and the first round lead. In second place was John McNab with 42 points, following his gross 68.
In third place was Malcolm McAlpine on 39, followed by Duncan Johnstone on 38, and Archie Black and Keith Blair on 37.
