Volunteering is a great way to contribute to your local community whilst gaining skills, experience and confidence and having fun. Voluntary work is also a valuable addition to CVs and applications for jobs, and colleges and universities.

There are a range of volunteering opportuniti es in both Lochaber and Argyll across a range of fields such as outdoor work, fundraising, mentoring and support, office work, arts and sport and retail.

Voluntary Acti on Lochaber, which support volunteers and communiti es in the area as partners with Highland Third Sector Interface, esti mates there is more than 3,000 people volunteering in Lochaber alone. Currently, Talk Lochaber, the talking newspaper for visually impaired people in the area, is in need of volunteers to assist in all aspects of the paper producti on, including readers, editors, technicians and administrators. The whole paper is produced by a team of volunteers so it is criti cal it has enough people on board to ensure they can conti nue to provide this useful service.
