Seemingly destined to be a one-record wonder, Hozier did well to recover for his third album with a tense set distilling classical literature influences without sounding like a terrible old pseud. The original LP was vast, yet he promptly became a rare non-pop act to score a No.1 with Too Sweet, which failed to make the original record. That laidback groove is joined by nine non-album cuts. Hozier could have easily released them as a whole new album. With the original LP, it’s one of the best recent deluxe versions. If he can keep this up, fair play.
