Noel Gallagher, Gruff Rhys and Alex Turner feature on this 2011 debut solo album, now getting a lavishly packaged first vinyl release. It began Kane’s reputation as someone more known for his starry mates than his own music, but that’s unfair. Kane’s cool vocals have a natural warmth, while his unshowy guitar playing is underrated in carrying a song along. The charging Inhaler and moody Counting Down The Days have an easy charm, which Kane has finessed over subsequent albums until he’s quietly become one of indiepop’s most reliable talents.
