TIP OF THE FORTNIGHT
Export passwords as a spreadsheet
I’m grateful to Computeractive for recommending NirSoft’s WebBrowserPassView (www. snipca.com/53080) in Issue 700 (page 20). For years I’ve been looking for an easy way to see my passwords across all my browsers – and this is it.
You mention that selecting Mark Odd/Even rows makes the list easier to read, and that’s certainly true. But another way to study the list – and is even easier in my opinion – is to export them as a spreadsheet.
To do so, press Ctrl+A to select all the passwords, then click File at the top left followed by Save Selected Items. Now give the file a suitable name ( 1 in our screenshot) then save it as a Comma Delimited Text File 2 , which has the file extension .csv. This will save it as a spreadsheet using your default office tool. Now choose where to save it, then click Save to confirm. And that’s it – job done!
