Test your speed and check if your ISP is to blame for faults

Ookla Speedtest (www.speedtest.net) is the most popular free tool for testing the upload and download speeds of your internet connection. It’s easy to use, works in your browser and has apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. The mobile apps were recently updated to provide more detailed test results through a new feature called Experience Ratings. This evaluates the suitability of your connection for different online activities.
Ookla has also improved the Speedtest app’s integration with its Downdetector tool, which monitors outages across thousands of services worldwide – including ISPs. This helps you work out whether a slow and unreliable internet connection is caused by a problem with your router or your internet provider.
