Create desktop shortcuts for Winaero tweaks
I was interested that Wintoys (www. snipca.com/55189) was readers’ most-clicked download of 2025 (Issue 726, page 60), and I’ll try it soon. But for now my preferred Windows-tweaking tool remains Winaero Tweaker (www.snipca.com/57399), so I was happy that you recommended a new update for the software in the same issue (page 18).
My favourite thing about Winaero Tweaker is how easy it is to turn a tweak into a desktop shortcut. To do this, just click a tweak to select it ( 1 in our screenshot) then click the blue ‘Create shortcut for this tweak’ arrow 2 . You’ll instantly see a pop-up message confirming it’s been added to your desktop.
When you next check your desktop you’ll see Winaero’s icon indicating where the shortcut is 3 . Click it and it’ll open that section in Winaero.

Reset Fire Stick to UK time to watch TV abroad
For several years I lived in the Middle East (Bahrain and United Arab Emirates) where you really couldn’t live without a VPN. I struggled for a very long time to get Channel 4 to work but with no luck. As a last gasp I tried changing the time on my Fire TV Stick to UK time. That, along with a decent VPN, finally worked! I’ve been back a couple of years, but hopefully it still does.
