RAILWAY OF THE MONTH
GOLLWALD
A narrow gauge terminus in Austria modelled in HOe: Peter Hoffmann has created a fictitious but plausible line with careful consideration of the historical background, geographical setting, and operating requirements.

PLAN OF THE MONTH
BÉZIERS
Keith White reports on the extensive HO exhibition layout of the Béziers model railway club in the south of France which depicts local scenes from the 1970s and 1980s.

FEATURES

GRETZ BREWERY
Glyn Thomas shows hows he built a compact and detailed diorama in HO based on a local prototype in Philadelphia, still standing but sadly no longer active in its original role.

GERMAN RAILWAY SOCIETY 40th ANNIVERSARY
The German Railway Society marks a notable achievement even though it has not yet been possible to celebrate with a meeting and exhibition as originally planned.

SCHLÄBELSRINGEN
An exercise in creating a plausible situation: Roger Jermy (a member of the German Railway Society) describes his compact N gauge layout, which represents a possible German preserved line that has retained some Deutsche Bundesbahn services.

ALKALI FLATS
John Grey has built a new American N gauge layout set somewhere in the south-western states which can host either Union Pacific or Santa Fe stock.

CUSTOM BUILDING ÖBB STOCK
Simon Dunn shows how he made some interesting items for his Austrian N depot diorama (see CM July 2021) using 3D-prints and adapting proprietary models.

NYTORP GARDEN RAILWAY – 4
Anthony Horne describes a remarkable long term project building an extensive G scale outdoor system in Sweden which accommodates a wide range of varied rolling stock. This final instalment looks at how the large steel works was constructed off site and installed in the lower garden.

ST.FAYRE RHIANNE
With a touch of humour, John Davies celebrates the glory days of the French metre gauge secondaire with a layout in HOm depicting a charming provincial town notable for scratchbuilt buildings, vehicles, and figures.

Wow

Some beautiful pictures to look at and great articles Reviewed 22 January 2023

Continental Modeller

I model in the US. It is extremely interesting to see how Europeans model their trains compared to how we model ours. The model railroads chosen are always stunning examples of compactness and high levels of detailing. Reviewed 25 January 2021
