You can’t knock them for being cheeky, with Ford reviving the Capri name for its latest medium electric SUV. The resurrection of the hallowed name may not be popular with everyone, but you can’t ignore the fact that the new electric Capri has become the hottest discussion topic in the car world.

Rubbing shoulders with the electric Ford in our news pages is the reimagined Audi A5, now offered in Sportback and Avant guises and serving as a replacement for the A4. We’ve also got spyshots of the Skoda Elroq, the first official photos of the BMW X3 and information on the facelifted Audi e-tron GT. Hyundai’s Inster and the LEVC L380 rub shoulders, alongside more details on the Citroën C3 Aircross and the classy Bentley Continental GT. Fiat’s funky Grande Panda is exhibited alongside the 500e Giorgio Armani limited edition, and we’ve got the first photographs of both the new MG HS and the Cyber GTS Coupé. Completing this month’s repertoire is the Polestar Concept BST and the plug-in hybrid BMW M5.

In for testing this month, Jeep’s electric Avenger faces the Kia Soul EV, and we get behind the wheel of the diesel Kia Sorento, the Peugeot E-5008, KGM Torres EVX, MINI Cooper Electric and diesel Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupé. We’ve got a comprehensive A-to-Z on tyres, and we wave goodbye to the Cupra Formentor from our long-term fleet.

All of your favourite columns and features are present and there for you to read, including a comprehensive used car section, The Doctor, Motor Grump, Bright Spark, Tech Zone, Data Files, and Current Affairs. We’ve got a selection of products inspected by our resident Gadget Inspector and there’s a handy What’s On guide, so you know what shows and events are happening in your area with a motoring flavour.

diesel, green cars, electric mag

The UK’s leading magazine for diesel, green cars, electric, hybrids and alternative fuelled vehicles, full of advice on tech, mechanics, future plans. great photos inspiring reviews Reviewed 21 August 2022

I like the way it has evolved over the years

I have been buying it in print and online since the early 2000s and I like that it always has focused on the economy end of motoring, or us cheapskates if you like. It has moved to covering hybrids and electric cars which is good, and hasn't forgotten its roots - diesels.

It's a friendly, down to early mag and Doctor Diesel is still the best bit.
