PART 5
MAINTAIN SKY DETAIL BY USING HDR LIKE A PRO
If you don’t have ND grad filters, you can still capture natural-looking results by shooting bracketed exposures and merging to HDR
Before
High dynamic range (HDR) photography is a simple yet highly H effective technique that can be used to maintain detail throughout the scene without using ND grads. More and more photographers are giving up ND grads to use HDR instead. This is often so that they don’t have to carry square filters, but are still able to use screwin or magnetic NDs and a polariser, which are smaller and lighter than square filters.
