What was it that brought us here in the first place?
When we created the design format that has remained (mostly) in place from issue 229 of Edge right up until today, we had to consider every aspect of the magazine. That extended to what is sometimes called the tagline, sitting beneath the logo on the cover. Just prior to that point, the words ‘Videogame culture’ were supposed to summarise what we were about, having replaced the previous line, ‘The future of electronic entertainment’, in an attempt to represent a broadened perspective. But that two-word phrase had always felt a bit undercooked, so it was added to the extensive list of things we should consider changing.
