The largest Bronze Age hoard to be discovered in London has been unearthed in Havering.
Artefacts from the major East London find will go on display at the Museum of London Docklands on 3 April 2020 in an exhibition called ‘Havering Hoard: A Bronze Age Mystery’; see https://familytr.ee/haveringhoard
More than 450 bronze objects including weapons and tools dating between c900 and c800 BC were uncovered during the planned archaeological dig, agreed with and closely monitored by Historic England. Its chief executive Duncan Wilson said: ‘The finds have already taught us a great deal about this distant age, and ongoing analysis and public outreach means that many more people will benefit from this window into the past.’
