Great magazine

One of the best of it's kind for all those interested in gardens Reviewed Saturday, April 9, 2022

THE BEST GARDEN MAGAZINE ANYWHERE

I have been carefully reading garden magazines since the early 1970's and while Horticulture, Garden Design, Fine Gardening and Garden Gate are valuable publications... none, in my opinion, can compare to Gardens Illustrated. Each month's issue begins with a section on wonderful and unusual plants for the garden that month. The gardens that are highlighted in each issue have in-depth descriptions and lavish photos... including whole page and double-page photographs. Unlike the small photos in American garden magazines, the photos in this magazine are large enough and detailed enough to give you a real sense of what that garden is all about. There are also extensive articles on specific plants... one issue contained an article on Primulas with 16 large photos and another article on Tulips with 19 beautiful photos. The same issue contained an article on a Japanese garden that included 17 large photos. If, on any level, you appreciate flower gardens and the beauty of garden plants you will simply love this publication. Reviewed Thursday, June 27, 2019
