It’s not the sort of anecdote you’d expect to read in a designer’s memoir, but in Jenny Packham’s new book she examines the wardrobe of her TV naturalist big brother Chris – who insists on giving her a guided tour of his “smalls” along with his designer outfits.
Among them is a lurid pair of leopard-print pants featuring a growling black panther, which, she writes, “are shockingly showy and a reminder that you never know what lies beneath”.
There’s even a photograph – published with Chris’s blessing.
“He was very willing,” Jenny, who turns 56 this week, tells HELLO!. “I’d said to him: ‘I don’t need to go through your sock drawer, let me get to the clothes.’ But he’s so thorough, he wanted me to go through every part. It was very enjoyable.”
