THROUGH A LENS
I really enjoyed reading ‘America’s Founding Fathers’ (Christmas 2019 ), especially the picture of Elizabeth Eckford (one of the Little Rock Nine) on her first day at Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. The first thing you notice in the eye-catching image is the look of hatred on the face of Hazel Bryan, pictured screaming at Elizabeth - the other eight black students planned to walk in together but couldn’t contact Elizabeth because her family didn’t have a telephone.
