LONG ANSWER e easy one is Washington DC. The US city was founded with the Residence Act of 1790, not long after George Washington was elected, which approved the creation of a capital and seat of government on the Potomac River.
Now for the less-obvious one. Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, got its name from fifth US president James Monroe, who was an ardent supporter for a colony of former enslaved people to be established in Africa. The idea was fulfilled in 1822, while Monroe was in office.
