The December issue of Horse&Rider is out now!

Headlining this month’s riding section is Olympic eventer Laura Collett. The final part of her series focuses on cross-country technique you can build from the arena – you’ll be acing skinnies, arrowheads, corners and bounces in no time, guaranteed. Sir Lee Pearson’s back, too, and he’s here to remind us that any horse of any size can become a dressage star, it’s just about picking the right exercises to help him shine! We also share with you a super-simple barrel jumping exercise that’s easy to set up but packs a punch when it comes to the benefits. Fizz Marshall shares her top tips for retraining ex-racehorses, and we discuss the perks of polework and why you need to add them to your autumn schooling regime.

Riding mindset expert, Alison Buttery joins us with her comprehensive nine-step guide to filling your horse with confidence and overcoming spookiness. Plus, equine behaviourist Anna Haines explains how your horse learns, and the pros and cons of the different methods you might choose for training.

Here at Horse&Rider, we’re getting into the Christmas spirit with a sneak-peek at what’s coming up at the London International Horse Show this year. Think epic competition, dressage masterclasses, a Live Zone packed with familiar faces and some of your favourite showjumpers in fancy dress – yep, you read that right, you certainly won’t want to miss it! And if that gets you in the mood for some more festive fun, check out our Christmas gift guide packed full of over 50 fab ideas to get you off to a fantastic start.

UK's top equestrian Mag

UK's best-selling equestrian monthly Reviewed 13 August 2020

Best horse mag ever

Just bought some back issues and a subscription. Used to buy it from the feed barn. Really like the way I can access the old issues whenever I like, and it is so quick to open. And this is the best all round read for me. Reviewed 16 July 2013
