Enjoy Picture in Picture mode
New to iOS 14 is the option to multitask while watching movies - even on older iPhones
One of our favourite new features of iOS 14 is Picture in Picture mode (PiP). When watching videos, you can trigger PiP mode by tapping an icon, after which the video will be reduced to a small window that is separate from its parent app. You can then quit the original app and continue to watch the video while launching other apps and doing other things on your device. You can also move the video window to a different position on your Home Screen, reduce it to a tab if you need to see more of your screen and, of course, close it when you’re done. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to use PiP as well as a neat workaround for using it with YouTube videos.
