Fedora drops 32-bit app support
Others are likely to follow the mainstream distro’s actions.
While support of 32-bit hardware ha been abandoned by many major distros, none have stopped supporting 32-bit applications, until now. While Fedora stopped supporting 32-bit PCs in 2019, developers are now being asked to stop building i686 versions of packages that don’t have any dependencies – also known as “leaf packages”.
