inux Lite has its own software installer that offers a small, curated selection of software. These are the kind of heavy hitters (such as Audacity, OBS Studio and Microsoft Edge) that a convert from Windows is likely to be interested in. ‘Package Manager’ is actually Synaptic, an excellent choice for package control on DEB-based systems. The problem is that if the application the user wants isn’t on Linux Lite’s custom installer, they have to use Synaptic or the command line, which might be too complicated for a newbie.
