SWAIPE APP REVIEW: USING AI TO DECLUTTER YOUR PHOTO LIBRARY

By Andy Butler

If you’re anything like me, your camera roll will have become a cluttered mess of imagery caused by the hoarding of multiple burst mode photos, numerous images of the same subject but taken from different angles, screenshots, videos, and everything in-between. This not only consumes valuable storage space, but also makes it very difficult to find a particular shot that you may be looking for. Sorting out something like this can be hard work and is often a task I’m happy to avoid, which only contributes to the problem further.

However, recently, the guys at Reeflex got in touch to tell me about the latest addition to your collection of photography apps. The app is called SwAIpe (pronounced Swipe) and has been designed with photographers in mind.

A DATING APP APPROACH TO PHOTO MANAGEMENT

SwAIpe is an iOS photo management app that helps photographers organize and declutter their photo gallery in a fun way. It sort of applies a dating app approach to photo management, where simple swipe gestures allow you to say whether a photo is “hot” or “not.” But SwAIpe does a lot more than just sorting your photos. Let’s take a closer look.

On opening the app, you’ll land on the Home Screen. Here, you’re presented with a beautifully designed layout that gives you an overview of your phone’s storage status. It shows how much storage you’ve used and how much is left. Scrolling down, you’ll also find three albums: Best of, Similar Photos and Similar Videos (more on those later).
