Q I’ve enjoyed George’s recent weathering articles. Can he explain in greater detail how he cleans the locomotive wheels after the weathering has been applied?
P. Yates, by email
George says: Clean locomotive wheels are vital for smooth operation. Applying paints and dry pigments during the weathering process inevitably leads to deposits on the wheels and power contacts, which must be removed before the model can be run on the tracks.
