STEP ON THE GAS
A timely release given that KR Models’ miniature take on this gas-turbine powered oddity is still fresh in the mind. ‘Oddity’ is just one way to describe GT3, yet do not dismiss this book as such for it is a superbly researched account, not just of GT3, but of turbine power on Britain’s railways. Stanier’s Turbomotive, the Reid-Ramsay and Ljungstrom designs all get good coverage, as does No. 18000 and APT-E. It’s the access to the photographs and documents of GT3’s creator John Hughes that makes this such a fascinating read. An essential addition to your library.
