Laggan resident Peter MacKenzie was fined £660 at Fort William Sheriff Court last week after admitting leaving two rifles unsecured at his home.
The court heard that police off cers had attended the home of MacKenzie, 55, at South Laggan, near Spean Bridge, on November 23, 2017, in relation to a separate inquiry.
Procurator fiscal Robert Weir told the court it was while off cers were speaking to MacKenzie that the two rifles were noticed in his porch and they were seized as a result.
