Ian Blackford MP, along with some parliamentary colleagues, has lodged a motion thanking Celtic rock band Runrig for their contribution to Scottish music and culture over the last 45 years.
Runrig finally brought the curtain down on their storied musical careers last month with two farewell concerts performed in the shadow of Stirling Castle. A group of MPs, who all attended one of the final shows, felt recognition had to be given to the band for their contribution to the Scottish music industry. Speaking at the time, Mr Blackford said: ‘We have all loved listening to the band over the last 40-odd years, we felt it really was the least we could do.
‘An Early Day Motion has been lodged with Parliament and our thanks and gratitude is now written there for everyone to see. I would encourage all parliamentarians to sign the motion.
