Councillor Robin Currie.
Argyll and Bute Council is encouraging people to book their places for the second Gaelic Gathering, which takes place at Oban’s Corran Halls on Saturday March 2. The free event brings people together to celebrate Gaelic history and consider how to strengthen and grow the language in Argyll and Bute. It provides an opportunity for organisations, community groups and individuals to meet national organisations and share ideas on how to develop Gaelic.
Councillor Robin Currie, policy lead for Gaelic, said: ‘The first Gaelic Gathering was very successful and I’m delighted that it is back for 2019. It’s such an important event and it presents a real opportunity for everyone withan interest in Gaelic to share thoughts and ideas on how we can help it flourish. ‘As a council, we are committed to doing what we can to ensure a long-term future for Gaelic in Argyll and Bute. It’s in all our interests that Gaelic prospers in Argyll and Bute.’
