It’s all hands to the pumps – but this is not a reference to the recent flooding in Oban, but to the fact that it is only one week to go before curtain up for the opening night of Cinderella, this year’s pantomime brought to the town by Benderloch and North Connel Drama Club.
While the public face of any pantomime is the performers on the stage, both the adult and the youth sections, singing the songs, performing the routines and reciting their lines, there is an awful lot of other work that goes on to produce the show.
With Benderloch and North Connel this is very much a team effort, with the dancers from Oban Dance Academy as well as the volunteers who give up a lot of their time willingly and freely to design and make the scenery and props, setting up during the shows, creating the costumes and helping with the make-up.
