Patchwork and Quilting  |  March 2017
A good mix of projects this month; some easy, some to test your skills. We start a new series quilt in this issue with the Tulips quilt. This project will run over the next six issues and incorporate a variety of techniques. The Rose Stained Glass Cushion is a follow up to a project that Julie Hodges designed for us a couple of years ago. Lynne Goldsworthy shows us a foundation pieced way of making HSTs in Spotty Pinwheels while the Ojo de Dios Wrap is another foundation pieced project. I’m sure quite a few of you have some Liberty of London fabrics stashed away and might like to raid that stash for the Liberty Quilt.
We meet Joë Bennison, a longarm quilter whose stunning work you may have seen at many recent quilt shows. Chris Hammacott tells us about the quilts she has been making for dementia sufferers in Forgotten Memories. We learn about Ice Dyeing and also find out about a new company in England producing cotton in Cotton Comes Home. We take a look at this year’s Journal Quilt Challenge ‘Let’s Dance’ and review the annual bun fight that is the Fabric Sale at Farnham Maltings. We also meet Mimram Quilters.
