Patchwork and Quilting  |  May-18
Helen has made the delightful Liberty Cottage Garden quilt in this issue which features the new craft cottons that Liberty have started making. Naomi Clarke has made another lovely English Paper Pieced quilt using traditional Liberty fabric with her Berry Tumblers. If you love ombré fabrics (who doesn’t?), you’ll love the Ombré Stars quilt made by new contributor Tracey Tasker. The Modern Plus Cushion is just that, stylishly modern while the Snippets of Summer Table Runner combines simple piecing with 3D work. The Succulents Runner features foundation piecing to create the spiky shapes of succulents. We also make the final blocks in our Mushroom Village series quilt. We’ll complete the quilt next month in the June issue.
Joanna O’Neill reviews the Scottish Quilting Show in Glasgow for us; a show that gets bigger and better each year while my former partner in crime, Emma Horrocks, tells us about the fun she had on a recent weekend retreat in My First Quilt Retreat. I enjoyed a lovely couple of hours looking at the Contrasts exhibition by All Threaded Together. Long-time contributor (and former assistant editor) Chris Franses tells us about her First and Last quilts and we meet the Heritage Quilters in Introducing.
