Eat Raw, Feel Rawsome
YOUR INTRODUCTION TO A RAW DIET
Eating a raw diet may have been labelled a ‘fad’ diet, but for some it’s a way of life. Advocates of a raw diet claim a whole multitude of fantastic health benefits, so if you want your very own slice of the (raw) pie, then here’s your introduction to help you eat raw, feel ‘rawsome’.
What is a raw diet?
A raw diet consists of food that has not been cooked at a higher temperature than 48°C, that is not refined, tinned and has not been chemically-processed in any way. Cooking food above 48°C can destroy the enzymes present in food and in some cases the body can over work itself trying to produce more enzymes. Moreover, cooking some foods above 57°C destroys some of the heat sensitive nutrients in food, meaning they are less nutritious than they could be.
