MODERN NAVIGATION
To misquote Harold Macmillan, when it comes to navigation we recreational sailors have never had it so good. Never before have we had such resources at our fingertips. Instant, high-accuracy positions, good quality digital charts and up-to-date port data mean that most of the time, we know where we are, where we’re going and what will happen en route. With the advent of mobile apps for sailors, the cost of a full featured electronic charting suite has plummeted. But that doesn’t mean that paper charts and traditional techniques are redundant not yet, anyway. Navigating in 2016 is all about using everything at your disposal to make your life easier and your boat’s passage as smooth as can be. Here are some tips for using paper and digital charts to your advantage.

Practical Boatowner

Excellent boat magazine, well organized and written. I's a pleasure for me reading it every month.
As an internationally appreciated magazine, I would only suggest to dedicate a little more space to other cruising grounds, especially in the Med area.
