BECAUSE HE’S WORTH IT
I was having difficulty finding Prog 110 in my local supermarket when I finally spotted it had been filed in the women’s magazine section. This was no doubt due to the rather fetching cover photo of a young Mr Wakeman. I wonder if any housewives bought Prog hoping to find Rick’s tips on haircare and this season’s fashion essentials: a cape. In future I will check the women’s section just in case you ever put David Sylvian on the cover.

TURNED ON TO BIRO’S TUNES
Nice interview with Colin Bass in Prog 111. Colin’s membership of Camel inevitably makes him the key draw for Prog readers, but I just wanted to point people towards Daniel Biro’s own catalogue, especially from a prog rock perspective to an album by the band Mysteries Of The Revolution that he released in 2007, plus the follow-up You Turn Me On EP from 2014, both available on his Bandcamp page.
These are very much prog albums with just a hint of jazz and thoroughly enjoyable because of it! There’s plenty of ELP/Focus style Hammond organ playing and some beautiful piano and synth melodies (alongside band colleagues on guitars, flutes, drums, etc). Try the nine-plus minute EP title track for starters.
