irdPen are multiinstrumentalist Mike Bird and singer/multiinstrumentalist Dave Pen, of electronic post-rockers Archive. Much of All Function Oneis lean and streamlined with inventive rhythmic shapes and strong vocal melodies. It’s vividly produced and a sonic glow dispels the shadows on Life In Design and Flames, which invite comparisons with early Radiohead, as well as, Elbow, Field Music and – unsurprisingly – Archive.
