New homes for ‘really useful’ wagons
HERITAGE WAGONS TRACK RECORD
Compiled by Gareth Evans
Machinery-carrying wagons boost fleets at the Watercress Line and Garw Valley Railway.
TWO Lowmac wagons which could once be seen at the National Collection sites in Shildon and York have found new homes on heritage lines – in South Wales and the South of England respectively.
The four-wheeled wagons feature a centre low section with an incline at each end, making them popular vehicles for heritage lines for the carriage of rolling stock components and permanent way maintenance machinery.
