GOOD progress is being made on the restoration of Bagnall 0-6-0ST Lamport No. 3 (2670/1942) at the East Anglian Railway Museum (EARM), Chappel and Wakes Colne station, Essex. The chassis has been completely restored, apart from the vacuum braking system, which is being worked on.
Work is now well advanced on the boiler, with the recent delivery of a new inner firebox from the North Norfolk Railway and much certified plating having been replaced on the outer firebox. A new foundation ring has also been fabricated. All three major components are now coming together, with the manufacture of hundreds of stays, rivets, and approximately 150 fire tubes.
